Hoops Squad Invade KC For Big 12 Tip-Off Event
Good morning Cowboys and Cowgirls. “Let’s Work”
It’s a simple, but powerful phrase that has embodied exactly what the OSU Cowboys have been looking to do this offseason as they head towards the 2023-24 campaign.
The phrase was the focus of conversation as the Orange and Black sat in front of the bright lights, cameras and microphones at the Big 12 Tip-Off in Kansas City this week.
What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew! Check it out below!

🔼 Ranked and Ready. With less than 10 days separating the OSU cross country squads with the 2023 Big 12 Championship meet, both teams learned that they will enter the meet ranked among the top-10 nationally.
The Cowboys remained at No. 2, while the Cowgirls sit at No. 6 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coaches Poll.
Up next for the Cowboys and Cowgirls are the Big 12 Cross Country Championships in Ames, Iowa, on October 28. The OSU men have won the last three Big 12 titles, with the women taking the last two overall.
During Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Dave Smith's tenure, OSU has won 16 combined Big 12 Cross Country titles.
🔼 Gazing at Garzon. They’ve got eyes on us.
We’re 18 days away from the start of the 2023-24 season, but senior forward Lior Garzon has already started her resume for this year.
After being named to the Big 12 Preseason Honorable Mention list late last month, this week, the Cowgirl veteran was named to the Cheryl Miller Watch List.
Named after the three-time Naismith Player of the Year and Class of 1995 Hall of Famer, the annual award in its seventh year recognizes the top small forwards in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates.
Garzon enjoyed a breakout campaign a year ago in her first season in Stillwater. Garzon saw action in 33 games, making three starts.
A native of Ra'anana, Israel, Garzon set the school's single-season mark with her 80 made 3-pointers. The 6-1 forward finished the year ranked in the top 25 nationally in 3-point field-goal percentage at 41 percent.
The Cowgirl sharpshooter finished the year as the squad's second-leading scorer at 10.8 points per game and became the first Cowgirl to average double figures in a reserve role in over 10 years.
