🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 79 DAYS

Number of the Day: 79.

Senior DB Andrew McGee sparked a quick spark for the Cowboys
in a 2010 home showdown with Tulsa with his 79-yard interception, which turned into a Weeden to Blackmon TD on the very next play.

It was a 14-point swing early against the Golden Hurricanes,
which led the Pokes to a dominant 65-28 win.

The 79-yard INT return remains one of the longest in
program history, ranking ninth all-time.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 It’s Tee Time. One of the best weekends on the golf calendar is set to kick off this morning from Pinehurst, N.C.

And the best part? Seven former Pokes will be a part of it at the 124th playing of the U.S. Open.

One of the largest amount of OSU alums ever in a single major will be on display with reigning U.S. Open Champion, Wyndham Clark, leading the way. Joining Clark are former Pokes Austin Eckroat, Rickie Fowler, Viktor Hovland, Alex Noren and first time major participant, Eugenio Chacarra.

🔺 Award Season. Each year in Hollywood, it starts around November and runs through February. The Oscars, the Grammys, The Golden Globes and list goes on and on…. the glamorous award season.

While the glitz and glamor might not be the same, OSU is entering their own award season with honors and recognition piling up this week.

On the diamond, the duo of Carson Benge and Nolan Schubart were once again recognized among the nation’s best, both earning a spot on Perfect Game’s Second Team American squad.

In addition, Benge and Schubart were joined by teammate Brian Holiday as the trio was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region squads. Benge and Holiday were named to the first team, while Schubart collected second team praise.

Over on the hard courts, the historic OSU women’s tennis squad was honored with the annual ITA Central Region awards. Ange Oby Kajuru was named the region’s Most Improved Player, Anastasiya Komar was named the Player to Watch, Chris Young earned Coach of the Year accolades, while Jaime Sanchez-Cañamares was named the region’s top assistant.
