🔺 The Great 8. Big time players make big time plays in big time games.

Once again, Lexi Kilfoyl stepped up in a big way for the OSU Cowgirls, tossing a complete game to lead her squad to a 3-2 road win at BYU on Thursday night in Big 12 action.

Kilfoyl allowed just one earned run and struck out eight to pick up her 11th victory of the season. The veteran has tossed 71.1 innings for the Orange & Black this season and holds an ERA of just 0.98.

Offensively, Karli Godwin delivered the biggest blow of the night, a two-run HR in the first inning to stake OSU to a lead that they’d never relinquish.

🔺 Caged Cougars. Entering Thursday night, not a single team had beaten BYU on their home courts.

That statement turned false as the 25th-ranked Cowboys rolled to a decisive 4-2 defeat of the Cougars in Big 12 action.

OSU’s win snapped a 10-match win streak for BYU.

After day one at the NCAA Championships, the OSU wrestling squad has three headed into quarterfinals on Friday.

Troy Spratley, Daton Fix and Dustin Plott all battled their way through the opposition and into the final eight of their weight class.
