Pokes Set To Return To Action After Busy Holiday Break
Happy New Year Cowboys and Cowgirls! Unlike Ross and Rachel, there’s no debate on this one, the Pokes were on a break.
Now, after a holiday break with friends and family, the Pokes are set to return to action in 2024 with plenty of action heating up on the court and on the mats this week for the Orange & Black.
What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew! Check it out below!

🤠 And so much more!
🤠 A TRUE COWBOY
Very few throughout the history of OSU embodied the Poke spirit like Dick Soergel.
During his time in Stillwater, Soergel played three sports, earning letters with the football, basketball and baseball squads, including playing in five different NCAA postseason events.
No better time to throw it back to an OSUMax Rewind, a Cowboys Face-to-Face with Soergel himself.
📈 STOCK UP
🔺 Connect Four. No better way to start a new year than on a roll!
The OSU men’s hoops squad is rounding into form as 2024 gets start as the Pokes extended their winning streak to four entering Wednesday’s non-conference finale.
Over the holiday break, the Cowboys took down South Carolina State, 86-70, with an impressive offensive performance led by 17 from Bryce Thompson.
🔺 Pro Pokes. With just one week left in the NFL regular season, the Pokes find themselves right in the midst of it all.
Former OSU stars are all over the playoff scenarios, including Mason Rudolph, who has helped the Steelers to back-to-back wins and has Pittsburgh right in the fight for the final playoff spot in the AFC.
In addition, former Pokes Justice Hill and Tylan Wallace were a part of Baltimore Ravens’ clinching of the top-spot in the AFC with a throttling of the Miami Dolphins this past Sunday.
🔺 They’reee Backkk. OSU fans got more than just the presents under the tree this holiday season.
The Cowboys look be to be reloading for 2024 as Ollie Gordon II, Brennan Presley and Collin Clay were among many stars of 2023 that have announced their return for next season.
Currently, the Orange & Black are set to return 10 of the 11 offensive starters next fall.
🔺 Among The Elite. After having to sit out all of last season, Cade Cunningham is back and showing out.
The former Cowboy has been phenomenal during a tough year for his Pistons squad.
Cunningham is one of just six players in the league averaging over 23 points (23.5), seven assists (7.3) and four rebounds (4.1) per game. He joins Tyrese Haliburton, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, Devin Booker and some guy named LeBron James.
🤔 COWBOY TRIVIA
The Pokes have been busy dialing long distance all season long.
In OSU’s most recent win over SC State, the Cowboys drilled 13 three-pointers in the victory.
It was their sixth time connecting on double-digit 3-pointers this year. How many times did OSU hit double-digit 3s in 2022-23?
Got a guess?
