🔼 Rome Or Bust. Prior to last year, only three former Cowboys had ever been honored with the opportunity to play in the Ryder Cup.

Next month, three former Cowboys will all play in the SAME Ryder Cup. Wyndham Clark and Rickie Fowler will don the Red, White and Blue, while Viktor Hovland will be a part of Team Europe.

The trio of Cowboys all finished in the top-16 at the 2023 PGA Tour Championship. This season alone, they combined for six PGA Tour wins and 25 top-10 finishes.

Scott Verplank and Hunter Mahan were the first two OSU alums to play in the Ryder Cup.

But if we’re being honest, some of our favorites are our littlest fans and future Cowboys and Cowgirls.

Our women’s basketball team got to spend some time welcoming some of the local elementary school kids back for another school year, while our women’s soccer squad got the pleasure of hosting area youth at the latest victory at Neal Patterson Stadium.

Answer: Rickie Fowler

Hovland (including this year), Verplank, Fowler and Mahan have all played in multiple Ryder Cups. Verplank and Hovland will have two to their resume, and Mahan has three.

Fowler’s run in the Ryder Cup started in 2010 and this year will make it his fifth time as part of the prestigious event.

Mahan and Fowler were both a part of the 2010 and 2014 US squads so this will be the third of Fowler’s five trips that have included another OSU Cowboy as part of Team USA.
