🔼 Show Me State Standout. When you come from a place called the Show Me State, you tend to have big moments in your blood.

St. Louis native Cameron Epps sure does at least and the redshirt freshman showed out in front of a national TV audience with a two INT day, including his first-ever pick six.

Epps is currently the only FBS freshman with a pick-six against a Power Five team this season.

In his second start, Epps recorded the first two interceptions of his career, two more pass breakups and five tackles.

For his effort, the youngster was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week.

🔼 Like Father, Like Son. Legendary OSU coach Tommy Chesbro was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1995.

28 years later, his son is getting a call of his own.

From a legendary Oklahoma wrestling family, Chesbro wrestled for Oklahoma State from 1989-92 and was a three-time NCAA All-American, two-time Big Eight Conference individual champion and a member of two NCAA championship teams. Chesbro was an NCAA finalist in his final season as a Cowboy and one of 45 wrestlers in program history to surpass the century mark in wins with a career record of 101-29.

Chesbro graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1996 and has used the skills he learned in wrestling to battle in the courtroom, serving stints as an assistant district attorney in two Oklahoma counties. He was a captain and member of the Major Crime Team for Tulsa County from 2002-2007 and the Director of Robbery Division and team captain from 2018-22. Chesbro currently serves as the Major Crime and Drug Trafficking Prosecutor for the Rogers County District Attorney's Office.

🔼 Punching His Ticket. Good things come to those who wait (and bust their tails along the way).

This past weekend, former OSU star Kevin Dougherty earned his first PGA TOUR card after five consecutive seasons on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Dougherty finished 22nd overall to earn one of the TOUR cards presented to the top-30 finishers in the Korn Ferry Tour each season.

A native of Murrieta, California, he joined the Orange and Black as a walk-on in 2009 and worked his way into the lineup for his final two seasons.

Congrats Kev!

🔼 Back at BPS. Same energy. Same effort. Same place.

Coming off last Friday’s thrilling home win over Kansas State, the Cowboys are back at BPS this weekend when the 23rd-ranked Jayhawks of Kansas come to town.

Nick Martin, Cameron Epps and the defense will have its hands full as Kansas is coming off a 51-22 home win over UCF and is averaging nearly 38 points per game.

🔼 Double Down. What’s better than one win to kick off match play? How about two?

That’s how OSU men’s golf team spent Monday with victories over Kansas (2-1-2) and West Virginia (3-1-1) on the opening day of action at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament.

Leading the way was All-American Jonas Baumgartner went 2-0 on the day with two decisive victories, 7-and-6 over KU’s Cecil Belisle and 5-and-4 over WVU’s Todd Duncan.

🎧 OSU MAX PODCASTS

A Sports Information Director wears several hats. One must have the ability to collect, organize, promote the teams and games for each sport.

For Steve Buzzard, his time in Stillwater was all those things and more. He got to be a part of Barry Sanders' Heisman season.

He developed close relationships with Eddie Sutton and Henry Iba. He dealt with the 2001 plane crash that took ten special lives.

Learn more about Steve and what each of those moments mean to him then and now in this episode of the Pokes Pod.

🎥 OSU MAX: INSIDE THE FILM ROOM

🤔 COWBOY TRIVIA

As we talked about earlier, Cameron Epps had quite a night on Friday in BPS.

His efforts earned him the Big 12 Newcomer of Week honors.

He is the first Cowboy freshman with two INTs in a game since Shaun Lewis in 2010, but who was the last OSU freshman with a pick six?

Got a guess?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Ramon Richards.

In a odd twist of fate, Richards’ pick six also came against Kansas State. That time was back in 2014 in a matchup with the then-ranked #11 Wildcats in Manhattan.

🤠 Enjoy your Tuesday, Pokes!
