The magical OSU women’s tennis season continued with more hardware this past weekend at Greenwood. Best part? They aren’t done yet!

There’s no bigger OSU tennis fans than Michael and Anne Greenwood. They are a cornerstone of not only Cowgirl and Cowboy tennis, but also of the entire university.

Their philanthropy efforts include the Spears Business Greenwood Center for Online Excellence, the Greenwood School of Music and the Greenwood Tennis Center, which opened in 2014.

Not only did the tennis facility host this past week’s Big 12 Championships, but they are on tap to host the NCAA Championships later this spring.

The #1-ranked OSU women’s tennis team extended their magical season with a run through the Big 12 Tournament at Greenwood Tennis Center over the weekend, capping it off with a 4-0 defeat of Texas in the finals.

Kristina Novak took home Tournament MVP honors with a 3-0 showing at the event.

🔺 Orange > Red. As the end of the regular season gets closer and closer, each series becomes more and more important.

Picking up a Big 12 series sweep this time of year is huge and that’s exactly what the OSU offense helped deliver as the Cowgirls piled up 30 runs in three games to complete the sweep of the visiting Red Raiders of Texas Tech.

The Orange & Black took the series with scores of 11-3, 13-0 and 6-4 to keep pace with the top teams in the Big 12 heading into the final few weeks.

Highlighting a powerful weekend was freshman Karli Godwin, who hit three HRs in the series to set a new program record for long balls by a freshman as she currently has 12 on the year.

🔺 Need For Speed. It was another busy weekend for the OSU track & field squads and another weekend full of speed.

The Pokes traveled to Waco and Fayetteville for the second time this spring season to show out.

Highlighting the performances was Fouad Messaoudi, who broke the John McDonnell Invitational and Arkansas Facility records in the men's 1,500 Meters with his time of 3:37.33. Messaoudi already owns the fourth-fastest time in the NCAA this year from the Bryan Clay Invitational last weekend at 3:36.08, but his time this weekend would also rank seventh in the country this outdoor season.

On the women's side, four Cowgirls likely earned NCAA West Prelim qualifying marks in the 1,500 Meters as Lilly Lavier, Cameron McConnell, Stephanie Moss and Grace Boone finished within a half-second of one another as Lavier took the heat victory at 4:18.59.
